Easy Blogging with Tumblr and Viewbook

By Rien | November 17th, 2009 | 10 Comments

091116_tumblTumblr is a super easy blogging service, allowing you to post and share anything; text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can now display your Tumblr posts directly in your Viewbook Pages. It even allows you to go back to read older posts.

To get started just create an account at Tumblr, create a new Viewbook Page and add the following code into the Text area (replace ‘yourusername’ with your Tumblr username):

[tag:tumblr url="http://yourusername.tumblr.com/" title_size="14"]

See this demo page: demo.viewbook.com/portfolio/tumblr_weblog

Just let us know if you experience any issues or if you have any suggestions. We’d love to see some examples in the comments.

  2. If you have a Pro account you can create a ‘Site’. Just click the ‘New’ button and choose ‘Site’. Then drag your two Pages into your ‘Site’ folder.

If you have a Standard account you can link your pages together by creating a link to each page in your Text. Just get the links to each page (copy it from the browser address bar). Then create a link as follows in your Page:

    “Name of your link”:http://www.linktoyourotherpage.com

  9. Hi,

this new feature is truly great i’ve been looking into putting a blog in my website for some time.

Just one question, is there a way of letting visitors make comments on the blog posts?

  10. This is great. And I’m new to Viewbook and it’s pretty awesome too. Good job!

Just wondering if it is instantaneous – when you post on tumblr, it posts on the website. I have entered the code as explained but post in tumblr doesn’t seem to pop up on my site. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.
    Si
